London, ON – There was a great crowd with lots of energy as the Mustangs men's soccer team continue their season with a 1-1 tie against the McMaster Marauders Friday evening at Mustangs Field.
Setting the stage early, the Mustang's striker, Anthony Chrysanthou scored on a beautiful breakaway in the 9
th minute.
"I got fortunate, we practiced pressing against this team before and I saw that the guy had a pretty bad touch, so I pressed on him, luckily I got my foot on it and the ball fell on a breakaway, so it was just me and the keeper" said Chrysanthou.
In the 51
st minute McMaster tied the game with a header from a cross, put to the back of the net by Dusan Kovacevic.
"It was a tough game tonight. We had a much better response and performance from our previous game against them which is a good sign. There was a lot of technical execution errors tonight, missed passes, poor touches on the ball and that can be due to a lot of things. This is the fastest game we've played so far, and some players got tired a lot sooner. This game is ninety minutes and even if overall you stick well to your game plan if its not for ninety minutes one moment can change everything, and I think that's what you saw tonight" said Parker Seymour, Mustangs Associate Head Coach.
The Mustangs head to the University of Winsdsor on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field for a 3:15pm kick off.
