London, ON - Under adverse conditions, the Mustangs faced the Marauders for a second time on home turf.
The Marauders worked fast, and managed to obtain a goal early in the first quarter. However, Western, with support from fans and assistant coaches Gaurav Chahal and Sehajpal Rosha, were determined to keep their positive attitude and upward momentum.
Despite multiple cards which left the Mustangs short players on the field, Western was awarded their first goal, off a short corner, from hard-hitting rookie standout Olivia Hledin.
With the game tied, our players bounced back, and managed to lock McMaster within their defensive half. A highlight reel second goal from high-scorer Madison Fisher, followed immediately by a green card, put the Mustangs ahead by one, and a final goal in the fourth quarter off a penalty corner from Olivia Hledin where she beats multiple McMaster defenders, assisted by Abi Hart, Western secured the 3-1 win for the still-undefeated home team.
