St. Catharines, ON – For the 9th consecutive time, the Mustangs Women's Rowing team are OUA Champions as they had a dominant performance throughout the competition on Saturday.

The Mustangs finished with 486 points (with Queen's the next closest school at 258 points). The team reached the podium on seven occasions (3 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze). Not only is it the 9th consecutive OUA title in women's rowing, but it's also the 30th in program history.

"This was our team's best regatta of the season by far. Great communication and preparation in meetings the night before the event." said Mustangs Women's Head Coach Matthew Waddell "Fog in the morning caused cancellations in the schedule, but the team handled the last minute changes well and kept the focus on what we could control. Huge credit to our team captains: Mallory Orr, Gabby Yarema, and Hayley Conrad for setting a tone throughout the day."

On the men's side, it was a silver medal performance for the Mustangs as they finished with 402 total points, just behind the Brock Badgers.

"It was great to be back at the OUA Championships with parents, supporters and alumni surrounding us." said Mustangs Men's Head Coach Dan Bechard "The team fought very hard for their second place finish.  Big standout was the heavy men's four that climbed back through the competition to win their event.  We move on to CUs where we take the most elite from our team and compete against programs coast to coast.  We are looking forward to continue building."
