GUELPH, ON - Western visited Guelph on Saturday evening to complete their home and home series with the Gryphons. In response to Western's dominance last game Guelph took ahold of the game early and held on late to win 4-3.
The Mustangs lost the momentum they gained from Thursday's win halfway through the first when a scrum ensued. Western ended up with 43 penalty minutes in total to Guelph's 34.
This scrappy game was won by Guelph when they scored 3 unanswered goals late in the first and throughout the second period.
Kyle Petit was the most notable Mustangs player, he tied the game at 1-1 after the first period scrum.
Petit also was apart of the late third period surge when he scored his second goal of the game.

He know has as many goals as games played wearing the 'C.' Starting to look like he wears it well.
On the goals front Petit was not alone though. Andrew Bruder scored a highlight reel goal to spark the Mustangs late in the third and begin the comeback.
Despite not being able to complete the comeback Goaltender Dylan Myskiw was a major factor in slowing down the Guelph offense.
Despite the large amounts of penalty minutes for both teams special teams were not a factor in this contest as both teams finished 0/2 on their powerplays.
Western's even strength play fell short and down the stretch their comeback momentum proved too little too late.
The Mustangs will take a week off and return to play on February 25 when they host Waterloo at 7:00 pm.
