London,ON - The Mustangs are excited to share the names of our student athletes who are among the best in Canada not only in their sport but also academically, with the announcement of the 2020-21 Mustangs Scholar Athletes.
Once again
Western is #1 in the country with the most U SPORTS Academic All-Canadians, at 287.
However, the Western Mustangs have 583 total Scholar Athletes, which equates to 54% of Mustangs student athletes achieving this distinct honour.
Scholars Athletes are student athletes who achieved an 80% or above average in an academic year, and are on the roster of a Mustangs varsity team. Scholars Athletes include U SPORTS Academic All-Canadians, but also include OUA Achievement Award Winners and Western Mustangs Scholar Athletes.
"Our Mustangs Scholars Athletes are incredible leaders on campus, and we are so very proud of their accomplishments. We are also very grateful for the support of all our Mustangs families, coaches, professors, academic advisors, counsellors, and many others in our campus community who play such an integral part in our student athletes' academic and athletic achievements." said Christine Stapleton, Director, Western Sport and Recreation.
