Box Score On Wednesday, November 13th, the Mustangs traveled to Toronto to take on the TMU Bold. Sarah Harvey got the Mustangs up and running, knocking down both her free-throws.
The Mustangs came out running the floor well, forcing 4 turnovers and stealing the ball 5 times. Despite struggling to score the ball, they only trailed by four points heading into the second quarter, 19-15. Emily Capretta led with 6 points.
The second quarter was a low-scoring thriller as TMU scored a meagre 7 points to Western's 10. The quarter was filled with defensive hustle, the Mustangs forcing 13 turnovers, and grabbing 8 steals. Jenna Button hit a three to end the half cutting the TMU lead to one-point, 26-25.
The Mustangs came alive from the 3PT line in the third quarter, getting contributions from Sam Vidovic, Paris Alexander and Sarah Harvey. Western tied the game going into the fourth quarter at 40 points a piece. Western's aggressive defense continued to force turnovers against one of the best teams in the OUA.
In the fourth quarter, the Mustangs clawed their way back into the game, continuing to press the Bold full court. Western held on to close out the game 55-52, earning their third win of the season.
