Ontario Tech beats Mustangs, 4-1

Oshawa, ON - The Mustangs fired 48 shots during three intense periods but couldn't capitalize. Ontario Tech netted their fourth goal with two minutes remaining in the final period, sealing a 4-1 victory. 
 

The first period, Ontario Tech struck early, as Andrew Suriyuth put the puck in the net just 36 seconds into the play. At 10:04, Justin Svenson from the Ridgebacks extended the lead to 2-0, assisted by Jeremy Michaud and Marko Jakovljevic. 

Sproviero cut the load down to 2-1 for the Mustangs at 18:26 when he shot the puck after the home team goalie gave up a rebound, assisted by Eric Van Impe and Anthony Allepot. 

Ontario Tech added a pair of goals in the first period and took a one-goal lead as the opening frame ended. 

In the second period, both teams started with high energy. The Mustangs had a lot of high-quality shots and made several scoring opportunities, marked as 23 shots in the second period. 

Gabriel Bernier restored the Ridgebacks' two-goal lead at 10:59 during their second power play of the night. Western had four minutes power play opportunities but couldn't get a shot on goal. 

Ontario Tech's goalie William Desmarais made 40 saves in the game and stopped Mustangs getting on the scoreboard. Ben Roode from Ontario Tech scored into the net at 17:11 in the third period for the 4-1 final. 

It was a tough loss for the Mustangs in a high-shooting game, with 48 shots.
