Box Score WATERLOO, ON - Despite a slow start to the night, the Western Mustangs secured their fourth-straight victory over the Waterloo Warriors on Wednesday night, 82-75.
To start the game, the Warriors opened the match overpowering the Mustangs offensively, beginning the night with an 8-0 run.
This continued as they extended their lead up to 12-02 in the first six minutes of play, as Waterloo continued to display incredible defensive prowess.Â
Western was having some trouble sinking shots in the first quarter, ultimately closing out at the first intermission, trailing by 14.

The Mustangs were having better luck to start the second quarter, scoring five points, half the amount they got in the first quarter, in the first three minutes of play.Â
The Warriors began to show weakness in their defense, as the Mustangs improved in their communication and off-ball movement to create space.Â
Western came back stronger in the second quarter, out-scoring the Warriors 21-17 as the first half came to an end with the Mustangs trailing narrowly, down by 10.Â

The Mustangs scored the opening points of the quarter, narrowing the deficit down to eight points before the Warriors managed to extend it back out to double digits.Â
It was a much more physical quarter, with both sides fighting hard on each possession for control of the ball. Once more, the Mustangs scored more than their opponent did as they brought control of the game back within a single possession with three minutes remaining.Â
After out-scoring the Warriors for the second quarter in a row the Mustangs only trailed by three entering the final quarter at 60-57.Â

The Mustangs briefly got their first lead of the night, as the lead began switching between the two sides with Western managing to come back from their first quarter deficit.Â
It was an explosive final quarter for Western as they began to hold a more steady lead over Waterloo in the final minutes of the night.Â
Holding the lead throughout the final half of the quarter, the Mustangs continued to display their league-leading offense, as the game came to a close with Western sealing the win at 82-75.Â
