Toronto, ON - The Mustangs Women's Tennis team is coming home with a bronze medal from the 2025 OUA Tennis Championship after taking a 5-2 win over York to finish off their weekend.
Western took two of the three doubles matches, with Chantal Stepanova and Sierra Ausman winning their match 8-3. Lillian Pappas and Mihika Saraswathi followed that up with an 8-5 win to give the Mustangs the doubles point. Western went on to win four of the six singles contests to secure the bronze.
The Men's side didn't fare as well in their bronze medal match as they took on Queen's. The Gaels swept the doubles matches, and that extra point proved costly as both sides split the singles matches, giving Queen's the match win.
Liam Drover-Mattinen was named the OUA Men's Player of the Year in the post-tournament awards ceremony.
