London, ON - The Mustangs finished off a stellar regular season on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Windsor.

Early on into the half, Reese got her 7th goal of the season to make it 1-0. Western continued to fight diligently for the ball with some nice plays including a cross assist that led to another goal 2-0, it was created to Mara Sanauceanu. The Mustangs continued their confident play and went into halftime with the 2-0 advantage.  

The second half was a strong start for the Lancers as they powered through the Mustangs towards the net but were unfortunately blocked by the defenders. Likewise, Western kept their pace with determination to keep their score up. The game ended at 2-0 with a win for the Mustangs. 

"We played well overall and our teamwork displayed that through each play" said Fowler

Western finishes the regular season with a 8-1-3 record and secure a 1st round bye and will host a quarterfinal game on Saturday October 18th at 8pm against the winner of York & McMaster.

"In football it's about playing you're your rhythms and hoping that something happens which just clicked for us today." said Associate Head Coach Onkar Dhillon.
