London, ON - The intensity of a Friday night match up between the Mustangs and Gryphons carried over to Sunday's meeting between the two squads as they played to a 1-1 draw.
After the Mustangs took a 3-2 win over Guelph to open the weekend on the road, The game pushed off to a good start with the Mustangs getting a goal early on from Daniel Oshana to make it 1-0. As the half continued both teams played quite aggressively, receiving yellow cards and a few fouls. Western took an impressive corner kick off the infractions but weren't able to convert it into a goal. The Mustangs then got a yellow card from an attempt at a slide tackle but went into halftime with the score in their favour at 1-0.
The second half carried the same energy, as both teams traded scoring opportunities in a fast-paced battle. Despite Western's strong defensive effort, Guelph found a way to even the score in the 76th minute. The Mustangs pressed hard in the closing minutes, pushing for a late winner, but couldn't break through. After an intense 90 minutes the match ended in a 1–1 draw showing both teams determination to win.
"I was very happy with the stuff our goalkeeper did as well as our ball movement this game." said Assistant Coach Gary Gorham.

Western wraps up the 2025 OUA regular season next weekend with a pair of games against Windsor. The first match up is set for Friday, Oct. 10 at 8:15pm in Windsor, followed by a final meeting between the two on Saturday, Oct. 11 at Western Alumni Stadium for an 8:15pm start.
