London, ON - The Western Mustangs Athletes of the Week for the week ending November 30 are Sydney Cowan (Basketball) & Cade Smith (Volleyball).

Cowan highlighted the Mustangs weekend with a buzzer beater 3 pointer that secured a 75-73 win over Ottawa. She dropped 23 points to lead the way for Western, she added 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in the win. She followed that up on Saturday with 26 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in the 75-66 Western win over Carleton. Cowan is currently the leading scorer in Canada for first year players.

Smith was electric in a pair of games the Mustangs played against Nipissing. He started the weekend doubleheader on Friday night with 23 kills, 13 digs, 3 blocks and 2 aces. He followed that up on Saturday with 17 kills, 8 digs and 1 ace on Saturday.
