Mustangs fall 3-1 to Queen's

Kingston, ON - After a 1-1 weekend against the Brock Badgers, the Mustangs were away at Queen's for one of their last games of the season. 

Western had a good start to the first set staying ahead at 6-4. As the set went on, the Mustangs worked hard to stay one step ahead of the Gaels each time with the score at 12-10. At 15-10 the Gaels called a timeout to regroup from a couple of errors. With the Mustangs carrying the set at 20-12, Queens called another timeout. The Gaels managed to catch up from the Mustangs errors at 21-18 with Western calling a timeout. The set ended off with Western taking the win at 25-22. 

The second set began with a more even score between the teams with Queens taking the lead at 4-3. The Mustangs caught up to Queens with a tie at 12-12. Western managed to stay ahead of Queens for a while but the Gaels came back at 22-21 prompting Western to call a timeout. The Mustangs call another timeout at 23-21 after Queens gets a kill. The Gaels took this set with a comeback at 25-22 evening out the match to 1-1. 

The third set had a rougher beginning for the Mustangs with a 6-2 lead from the Gaels. Western recovered from their errors bringing the score to 11-11, tying the set. As the game continued, the Mustangs ensured to stay right behind the Gaels at 19-18. At 21-18 Western called a timeout. The Gaels ended up taking another set at 25-21 leaving the game at 2-1. 

The fourth set started off bumpier for the Mustangs, but they snapped back with the lead for a moment at 8-7. Western powered through to try and continue to trail behind the Gaels at 17-15 but ended up calling a timeout at 18-15 after a tough block. With Queens at the advantage of 20-16, Western called another timeout. The game ended with a service ace from Queens at 25-16.
