LONDON, ON -

The Mustangs continued their home stay against the Waterloo Warriors on Friday evening. Western came out of the gates quickly and went on a 23-0 run to end the quarter up 29-6. Waterloo struggled from the field, making a mere 2 field goals. Lucas Sheets led the Mustangs with 12 points, and Noah Otshudi got in the game early with 6 points.

The Mustangs continued to out-play the Warriors throughout the quarter. They went into the break up 43-20. A huge part of their success at the half was due to their 21 defensive boards and their 15 assists. Matteo Zagar led the team with 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

Western continued to push the pace against the Warriors, ultimately cruising on their 29-point first quarter. They closed out the game 90-45.

"We pushed the pace and we got out in transition. We moved the ball, and played as a team", said Imran Armstrong. The veteran guard finished the night with 18 points, 3 rebounds and a team-high 4 assists.

As the playoffs are around the corner for the Mustangs, Kennedy Charles talked about some things the team needs to do to stay ready. "We have to make sure that we're in the gym full time and we have to come out with the same hard energy every single game, every practice until then", said Charles. He led the Mustangs in rebounding with 10 boards, and was just shy of a double-double.

The Mustangs finish off their regular season tonight night against the Laurier Golden Hawks at 8PM EST.
