London, ON - The Western Mustangs Men's Volleyball team is set to welcome a pair of new student-athletes to the program for the 2025-26 season as Head Coach Jim Sage announces his recruit class.

This year's recruits include Pedro Moises & Troy D'Cunha.

"Really excited about both incoming recruits. Troy is a national gold medalist from Pakmen, who has great potential and character, and Pedro was one of the top Libero recruits out of Can-West which will give us great depth at that position." said Jim Sage, Mustangs Men's Volleyball Head Coach.

Why did you choose Western?: 
"I chose Western for its amazing academics and athletics programs. Western has a beautiful campus where I know I can obtain a world class education whilst playing varsity volleyball on a high ranking team."

Athletic Accomplishments:
 - Selected to Team Ontario Red- 3rd time representing Team Ontario,
 - High-School Volleyball All Star
 - School's Athlete of the Month
 - 2024 Volleyball Canada National Champions.

Academic Accomplishments: 
Honours throughout high school in French Immersion, with a 96% average.

Pedro Moises

Why did you choose Western?: 
"I chose Western University because of its outstanding academic reputation. Particularly in its Medical Science Program, a field I always hoped to pursue. Additionally, the Western Mustangs Men's Volleyball team coached by Jim Sage is one of the best in the nation and the environment in which the Mustang players develop their skills and attitudes best suits my goal to continue playing volleyball at the highest level".

Athletic Accomplishments:

 - U-14 Alberta Volleyball Provincial silver

 - U-15 Alberta Volleyball Provincials (4th place and named in the Provincial All Star team)

 - U-16 Alberta Volleyball Provincial bronze (Captain)

 - 2024 4A High School Provincials silver (Captain)

 - U-17 Best Of The West 4th place (captain)

Academic Accomplishments: 

 - Honour Roll student for every semester of high school

 - Won science standout awards for Biology and Chemistry 

 - Averaged 97% on my grade 11 year

 - Currently averaging 94 % on my grade 12 year
