London, ON - The Mustangs used a powerful second half to take a 3-0 win over York on Friday night.
"We made some adjustments at halftime and I'm happy with the response of our group." said Mustangs Associate Coach Onkar Dhillon "We're a team that prides ourselves on the adjustments we can make that worked for us in this instance."
The game started off simply for both teams as they pushed back and forth for the ball. Wester took a couple shots, but they were saved by York's goalkeeper. The game had many good forwards on both teams making it an interesting watch. Going into halftime the score was still 0-0.Â
The second half began quickly with the teams urging to get the ball into the net. The Mustangs then got their first goal in the 71st minute from Sophia Saville. Four minutes later Saville struck again, opening a 2-0 lead for Western. The Mustangs rounded out the win with a free kick goal from Reese Fowler, pushing the lead to 3-0.
"If we can put the same grit, technique and determination into our game on Monday, I think we can have a similar result." said SavilleÂ
