2026 Season of Celebration: Sophie Coutts (F.W.P. Jones Trophy)

London, ON - The F.W.P. Jones Trophy is presented to the Mustangs female student-athlete who has made the most outstanding contribution to intercollegiate athletics during their career.

Nominees for the 2025-26 F.W.P. Jones Trophy include:
  • Shona Branton (Swimming, King's University College)
  • Jonelle Clarke (Wrestling, School of Graduate & Postdoctoral Studies)
  • Sophie Coutts (Cross Country/Track & Field, Med Sci/Ivey)

Her five-year career at Western stands among the finest ever produced by our women's distance program. From contributing to a U SPORTS silver medal team as a first-year athlete to closing her career ranked among the nation's best in the 1500m and 3000m, she has consistently delivered when it mattered most. She has received All-Canadian honours in cross country, eight U SPORTS track medals, and ten OUA medals across individual and relay events. She holds top-three positions on Western 's all-time lists in the mile, 1 000m, and 3000m, and proudly represented Canada at the FISU World University Games.
