Biography
Notes:
A long athletic post who improved significantly in her sophomore season. A low post threat who runs the floor extremely well. Megan will be looking to establish herself as one of the best post players in the OUA this season. Was one of the top prospects at the center position to stay in Canada coming out of high school. Megan is well-rounded player doing most things effectively on the floor. Will be a major factor in the team's success this season.
As a Junior:
Despite fighting a early season back injury, Megan had a solid season as a Junior. She averaged 8.0 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Led the team for the second consecutive year in blocks. Had a career high 20 point performance vs. Waterloo on January 12th.
As a Sophomore:
Started all 22 games last season at the center position. Averaged 21.3 minutes per game. Shot an impressive 54% on her way to averaging 8.3 points and 5 rebounds per game. Also led the team with 17 blocks. Had a season high 15 points twice, vs. Laurentian on 12/01/06, and Wilfrid Laurier on 01/31/07. Had a season high 12 rebounds vs. Laurier on 11/04/06. Recorded 4 double-doubles. Had 14 points in playoff loss to Guelph on 02/21/07.
As a Freshman:
Averaged 6.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Shot an impressive 49% from the field. Scored a season high 12 points vs. Lakehead on 12/03 and again vs. Carleton on 01/13. Had 11points vs. McMaster on 02/04.
M.M. Robinson High School:
Was named a Toronto GTA All-Star in 2004. Was a 2 time Halton All-Star. Started on the senior team in grade 10. Halton Finalists in 2004. Was a four year Honour roll student.
Personal:
Daughter of Brenda and Michael Lapointe. Has older brother Christopher and younger brother Matthew. Is majoring in Social Sciences.
