Mustangs Videographer Job Description

The Mustangs Videographer gets the opportunity to get close to the action of Mustang Athletics. They collaborate with the Mustangs TV team and have a hand in projects that will be used to support athletics and the athletes here at Western. Working with the Manager, Communications and Media Relations, the Mustangs Athletics Videographer is responsible for cutting in-game highlights, filming post-game interviews, and putting together post-game video packages at Western Mustangs games and events throughout the athletic season. Students will work out of the Mustangs Communications Office in the Western Student Recreation Centre and at Mustangs home games across campus.
 

Key Responsibilities

·       Cut in-game highlights using Stretch Internet Instant Highlights system
·       Post in-game highlights and score updates to Mustangs social media
·       Film post-game interviews with athletes and coaches
·       Edit interviews and highlights together into a post-game video package
·       Video clip naming and organization
·       Uploading videos to YouTube
·       Other duties as required
 

Required Qualifications

·       Strong interest in sports
·       Experience with sports video would be considered an asset, but is not required
·       Experience with Adobe Premiere would be considered an asset, but is not required
·       Must be able to work evenings and weekends
·       Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
 

Required Availability

Typically 5-12 hours per week, depending on the sport schedule. Work hours will be primarily on weekends and evenings.
