Background Information - Strategic Plan
Sports & Recreation (Student Experience, Western University) underwent a strategic planning process in 2022-23, to ensure the area aligns with Western's new Strategic Plan: Towards Western at 150, as well as with the new Student Experience Strategic plan, and to set our Game Plan for the next 6 years.
Strategic plans are excellent guiding documents, and are updated at regular intervals. This plan draws upon the data collected throughout the process as well as the broad-based consultation work that took place over the last 12 months, as well as the information was gathered during the development of the Weese Report, the development of the previous Student Experience strategic plan, and the 2020 Sport Review.
Â
We wanted Sports & Recreation stakeholders to have the opportunity to contribute to the evaluation and development of the area and appreciated the perspective that they brought to this process.Â
Â
We identified many stakeholders and worked with an external consultant, Anne Becker, Climb Consulting, to develop different processes for input, that contribute to the final strategic plan.
Â
There are seven key areas of the Strategic Plan:
Â
Part  1. Name: Sports & Recreation
Part  2. Mission & Vision           Â
Part  3. Our Greater Impact      Â
Part  4. Activating our Greater Impact  Â
Part  5. Enabling our Impact     Â
Part  6. Sustaining our Impact
Part  7. Our Guiding Values   Â
