Western Mustangs Sports

Dear Colleagues,

I am so pleased to be sharing with you the Strategic Plan for Sports & Recreation; Game Plan: 2023-2028 and our vision: to create communities of belonging where all Western Mustangs thrive.

Sports & Recreation at Western University has been undergoing a strategic planning process for the past 12 months, to ensure the area aligns with Western’s new Strategic plan, and to set our Game Plan for the next 6 years.

This plan draws upon the data collected throughout the process as well as the broad-based consultation work that took place over the last 12 months, and the information was gathered during the development of the Weese Report, the development of the previous Sports & Recreation strategic plan, as well as the 2020 Sport Review.

We wanted Sports & Recreation stakeholders to have the opportunity to contribute to the evaluation and development of the area and we so appreciate the perspectives that they brought to this collaborative process. 

We look forward to sharing updates on this website about our path forward as we launch, and we thank you for your input, interest and collaboration with us as we work towards positioning Western University Sports & Recreation as a leader in sport and recreation in Canada.
