Sheffar has been with the Mustangs for five years as an assistant coach with the Cross Country Team.
Tammy is a Western Mustang alum who was a member on both the 1981 and 1982 cross country teams. She has continued to be an active member of the London running community, competing in many road races and marathons, including Boston and Chicago. She volunteers at local cross-country and track and field events.
Sheffar has been coaching, encouraging and supporting young runners at several secondary schools for 35 years, including London Central S.S. and Sir Frederick Banting. She feels fortunate to have been part of the success of those athletes that competed and medaled at both the OFSAA Cross-Country and Track and Field Championships. She has watched many of those athletes continue their success at the university level.
Tammy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education (84) and a Bachelor of Education (85) both from Western University. She retired from teaching secondary school Physical Education, English and Resource in 2017.
