Jim Waite has served as the head coach for golf since 1991. Under his leadership, the Mustangs won OUA championships in 2001, 2010, 2012, and 2013. In 2011 the team took fifth place at the Canadian University Championship, while 2012 saw Waite honoured with OUA Coach of the Year.

Jim Waite is a three handicap golfer and winner of several tournaments in Ontario. He is also a five-time club champion at St. Thomas Golf and Country Club.

Waite also serves as the National and Olympic Curling Coach for Canada, helping to earn two gold medals (2006, 2010), and two silver medals (1998, 2002) for Canada.

He has been the National Coach and Team Leader for 18 Men`s Canadian World Championship Teams between 1993 and 2010.

Jim Waite works as a motivational speaker on the Olympics, Canada, World Championship Performance, Coaching, Team Building and being Canadian.

Currently holding a Level 5 Coaching Certification with the Coaching Association of Canada, he is also the owner of Performax Coaching Inc., a coaching company dealing with high performance athletes. 
 
Previously, Jim Waite was a Principal with the London Board of Education, Chief Umpire at five World Championships and six Canadian Championships, won four Provincial Curling Championships, and has qualified for the Ontario Men’s Curling Championships four times.

Waite is married to his wife Sue, with whom he has two children, Chris and David, who are both married.
