2014-15: Joined the Mustangs from Lakeside Volleyball Club…Regular Season: Played in seven sets across six matches to record .14 digs per set… Playoffs: Played in one set.
Personal: Full name is Sydney Alexandra Newton, daughter of David and Jacqueline Newton of Oakville, ON. Attended Oakville Trafalgar High School, competing in volleyball and rugby. Led her high school volleyball team as captain and MVP for four consecutive seasons, earning a spot in the OFSAA ‘AAAA’ semi-finals. Newton also captured an OFSAA ‘AAAA’ Gold Medal as captain of the Varsity Rugby team. She finished her high school career as a four-time honor roll student and winner of Student of Excellence Award as well as the Ontario Principal’s Council Award. Newton completed her prep volleyball career competing for Lakeside Volleyball Club.
