As head coach of field hockey, Jeff Pacheco has consistently lead the team to success with a unique coaching style which is a blend of high performance and team belief.  The Mustangs have had a number of outstanding seasons and have topped the regular season OUA standings on a number of occasions. Under Jeff's guidance, numerous athletes have been awarded post-season honours, further more have gone on to be upstanding adults from what they learnt on the playing field. 
 
Last year in 2021/22 season the Mustangs had a great campaign which brought the team more accolades, Jeff became U sport and OUA coach of the year.  Looking back, the team's highest finish comes from 2012, when they placed fourth in Canada. Within the same season Jeff Pacheco was named CIS Coach of the Year and OUA coach of the year. 
 
Jeff has been coaching since he was eighteen years old, where he got his start in Adelaide, Australia as a professional athlete and coach. At the North East Club in Adelaide, he coached U-13 boys and Premier Ladies. He earned his FIH coaching Levels 1 and 2 in Australia. Jeff has been coaching from then till now, starting part-time as Westerns head coach in year 12.
 
Jeff started his field hockey career at the age of twelve. His club affiliation has always been with the G.O.A. Reds, which has been one of the top male teams in North America. Playing club taught him how to balance passion and fun. He then went on to play for Ontario from the ages 14 to 23 and at the Junior and Senior levels for both indoor and outdoor field hockey.
 
Progressing from provincial teams, Jeff went on to play nationally from the ages of 15 to 23 for both indoor and outdoor. Playing for the national team, Jeff was able to travel all over the world including Austria, Argentina (Junior Pan Americans), Chile (World Cup Qualifier) and Scotland (Indoor World Cup) among other locations around the world.  Latest field hockey has Jeff competing with the Canadian Masters programs representing Canada.
