Twelve-point rally not quite enough as Western falls short of Homecoming win

Oct. 3: Queen's 13 Western 12

LONDON, Ont. - A valliant comeback effort fell just short as the Western Mustangs fell to the Queen's Gaels, losing 13-12 in a battle of undefeated men's rugby teams on Oct. 3 at the UWO Rugby Fields.

Mike Talbot (Lucan, Ont.) and Jesse Kliman (Victoria, B.C.) both scored tries for Western while Alan Si (Ottawa, Ont.) added a convert.

Tim Richardson scored the lone Queen's try, while Ryan Kruyne had a convert and a pair of penalty goals for eight points in the one-point Gaels victory.

Queen's (5-0) led 13-0 before Western launched its comeback effort.

The Mustangs (4-1) travel to play at Toronto on Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. before hosting two home games Oct. 14 against Guelph at 4 p.m. and Oct. 18 against McMaster at 1 p.m., both at St. Georges Rugby Fields in East London.
