Pocrnic, Marcoccia and Avola net goals in undefeated weekend

Oct. 3: Western 1 Laurier 0 / Oct. 4: Western 2 Waterloo 2

Mark Pocrnic (London, Ont.) scored in the 84th minute Saturday afternoon to break a scoreless tie and give the Western Mustangs to a 1-0 win over the host Laurier Golden Hawks at Alumni Field.

Fourth-year goaltender Kosta Viglatzis (Toronto, Ont.) picked up his third shutout of the season.

On Sunday, the Mustangs and Waterloo Warriors traded goals in both the first and second halves en route to a 2-2 tie in Waterloo. 

Mike Marcoccia (London, Ont.) and Ryan Avola (London, Ont.) scored for Western, while Alexander Woo and Chris Lam notched goals for Waterloo. 

The Mustangs are now  3-3-2 and remain in fifth place in the OUA West. The club will play next on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 8:15 pm against the Windsor Lancers at TD Waterhouse Stadium.
