Guelph snaps Western's six-game win streak entering holidays

Nov. 28: Guelph 3 Western 0 (24-26, 20-25, 22-25)

GUELPH, Ont. - The Guelph Gryphons women's volleyball team snapped Western's six-game winning streak with a tightly contested, straight-set win over the Western Mustangs Nov. 28 at W.P. Mitchell Athletic Complex.

Caleigh Whitaker (Sharon, Ont.) led the Mustangs with 12 points.

Kylen Van Osch led the Gryphons with 20 points, while Claire Sandor had 16 points.

With the loss, Western falls to 7-2 in a tie for second place in the OUA with Waterloo, trailing just McMaster (8-1) going into the holiday break.

A night earlier, strong defence guided the Western Mustangs to a 3-1 (25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 25-17) win over the Waterloo Warriors Nov. 27 in women's volleyball action at Alumni Hall.
