The Ottawa Gee-Gees had double-digit scoring from three different players as they swept the Western Mustangs 3-0 (27-25, 25-16, 25-17) at Montpetit Hall Sunday afternoon.
Myriam English paced the host Gee-Gees with 15 points on 11 kills, adding two aces and 2.5 blocks along with a team-high seven digs. Melissa Morelli added 13 points on 11 kills and two aces for Ottawa.
Jenny Pierce was the top Mustang with eight points on seven kills as Western had low 5.7 per cent kill percentage. and committed 20 attacking errors and 10 serving errors in the loss.
With the win, Ottawa improves to 4-1 for third in the OUA East, while Western drops to 2-2.
The Mustangs play at Laurier Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. and at Waterloo on Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. before returning home to close out the 2010 portion of the season at home Nov. 26 against Brock at 7 p.m. at Alumni Hall.
