HAMILTON, Ont. - Winners of eight of their last nine games, the Western Mustangs women's volleyball team goes into the OUA Final Four women's volleyball provincial tournament with a solid team and no pressure.
The host McMaster Marauders (16-3), expected to win the tournament and move on to the CIS national championships in Edmonton in early March, will host Queen's (13-6) in one semifinal today, Feb. 26, at 6 p.m. at Burridge Gymnasium, while the Mustangs (14-5) will face Toronto (14-5) at 8 p.m in the other semifinal. The winners meet for gold at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday Feb. 27, while the losers play for bronze at 4 p.m.
Western advanced to the OUA Final Four after a decisive, three-set win over Guelph on Feb. 19 in the OUA West Semifinal by set scores of 25-21, 25-19 and 30-28.
