LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs men's soccer team earned a hard fought win against the York Lions 1-0 on Sept. 8 at TD Waterhouse Stadium.
Isaac Jacobsen of Vancouver scored with a header in the 85th minute off a brilliant run and cross from London, Ont., rookie defender Alex Lewis to give Western the win.
Andrew Murdoch of Burlington, Ont., was stellar in goal for the Mustangs to earn the clean-sheet shutout. He made a number of great saves, including a diving highlight-reel save in the 49th minute on a ball destined for the top corner of the net.
The Mustangs are now 3-0 on the season, having won all three games by a score of 1-0 with Murdoch earning the shutout in each of the victories.
Western next faces Brock at home on Sunday, Sept. 12. Game time at TD Waterhouse Stadium is at 3:15 p.m.
