Jan. 8: Windsor 5 Western 4

LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs lost a back and forth affair with No. 10 Windsor 5-4 on Saturday afternoon at Thompson Arena.

Ellie Seedhouse scored 2 goals for the Mustangs. Taryn Brown and Carly Rolph added the other Mustangs goals.

With the loss the Mustangs fall to 4-12-1 on the season.

After a hooking penalty on Windsor, Ellie Seedhouse converted a chance on the powerplay to put the Mustangs up 1-0 halfway through the first period.

The second period featured a flurry of goals as Windsor's Hoogstraten tied the game up three minutes into the period.

The Mustangs regained the lead just 43 seconds later as Brown would get her first goal of the year off a shot from the point.

Windsor took advantage of turnovers in their end scoring two quick goals 26 seconds apart at 15:29 and 15:03 to take a 3-2 lead.

Seedhouse got the Mustangs even at 3-3 halfway through the second period with a nice move in close.

A slap shot from the point from Windsor's Julie Hamilton bounced past Ross after she initially saved it to make it 4-3 Lancers. The goal came on the power play just 48 seconds into the third.

The Mustangs responded as Rolph came in on the rush and with a quick snap shot found the five hole and the back of the net to tie the game at 4-4 with nine minutes remaining.

Western gave up a powerplay goal with 5:23 left in the third to make it a 5-4 game.
