Mustangs upset Marauders in quarter-finals, heading to the OUA Final Four

Feb. 19: Western 3 McMaster 2 (25-15, 25-22, 18-25, 24-26, 15-10)

HAMILTON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs upset the McMaster Marauders 3-2 in the OUA quarter-finals on Saturday evening in Hamilton, Ont.

Western took the first two sets 25-15 and 25-22. McMaster responded to the adversity by taking the next two 25-18 and 26-24. Western took the fifth and deciding set 15-10. 

The Mustangs were up 13-10 in the final set when Stephanie Kantzos came in to serve. She stepped up with two aces to secure the victory for the Mustangs.

Elaine Screaton led the Western attack with 20 kills, two aces, and 22 digs. Jenna Thomson had seven kills, 40 assists, four aces and 23 digs. 

Guelph will host the OUA Final Four on Feb. 25 and 26. The Mustangs will play at 6 p.m. or 8 p.m.
