Streaking Mustangs at home against Laurier and Waterloo

Feb. 4: Laurier vs. Western, 6 p.m.; Feb. 5: Waterloo vs. Western, 6 p.m.

LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs women's volleyball team is in the midst of a couple of streaks. They have won four straight games with 3-0 sweeps and 10 of their past 11 games.

Western will look to continue their winning ways as they have their last home-stand of the regular season this weekend. The Mustangs will play Laurier on Feb. 4 at 6 p.m. and Waterloo on Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.

The young Mustangs' squad will honour their three graduating athletes, Elaine Screaton, Jenna Thomson, and Sarah Johnston, at the Saturday night game against Waterloo in the annual Seniors night.

Screaton has averaged 3.1 points per set and over three digs per set as well. The Mustangs have been led by Kelly Frittenberg's 3.6 points per set and her 1.23 blocks per set, second in the OUA.

The Mustangs will look to attack at Laurier's Brittany Hopley, who is leading the league with 1.31 blocks per set, just above Frittenberg. Against Waterloo, Western will look to attack against Katie Spack, currently in the top five in the OUA with four digs per game.

Western will head on the road next weekend as they finish the regular season with games against Brock on Feb. 12 and Toronto on Feb. 13. Both games are set to start at 2 p.m.
