Western Mustangs swept by Queen's Gaels

Feb. 4: (27-29, 20-25, 23-25)

KINGSTON, Ont. – The Mustangs men’s volleyball team experienced their second loss of the season this afternoon. They were defeated 3-0 in straight sets by the Queen’s Gaels with scores of 27-29, 20-25 and 23-25.

Western has gone undefeated at home this season. Their only other loss came at the hands of Waterloo on Jan. 14.

The Gaels took the first set with a score of 29-27. Set two had the largest point spread and again, it went to the Gaels 25-20.

Queen’s won the third and final set with a score of 25-23.

Mathieu Poulin had 10 kills, one ace and two digs for Western while Joren Zeeman (17 kills, 1 ace, 8 digs) led Queen’s with 20 points.

The Mustangs look to rebound from the loss as they travel to RMC tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 5, to play their last regular season game before playoffs.

?Western will also host the OUA Final Four on Feb. 24 and 25. They will play at the 7:30 p.m. semi-final against the OUA’s fourth place team.
