Mustangs' effort not enough against Lions

Today the Mustangs men's soccer team faced the York Lions for the second time this season and instead of coming away with a tie like last time, the men lost 2-0.

The Mustangs started by applying pressure, but at seven minutes they let a ball escape through the middle and Adrian Pena scored York's first goal. Western came back around the thirty minute mark, posing threat to York on a corner kick taken by Mike Bittel and received by striker Pat Mroczek.

At 35 minutes Mustang Oliver Richardson received a yellow card. At the end of the first half the Lions led 1-0.

The second half was slower and chances were limited for both the Lions and the Mustangs. At 23 minutes York’s Joseph Cicchillo scored a second goal for the Lions. After York’s second goal Western tried to regroup for a goal, but came up short.

At 30 minutes York players Charlie Trafford and Arthur Casupanan received yellow cards.

Catch the Men’s Mustang Soccer team tomorrow in an away game against the Guelph Gryphons starting at 3:15pm or stream the game live at http://www.ssncanada.ca.
