WATERLOO, Ont.- After last week's impressive 76-3 victory over Royal Military College, the Western Mustangs men's rugby team hit the road on Friday night, defeating the Laurier Golden Hawks 47-10 in the final regular season contest for both teams.

With the win the Mustangs finish the regular season with six wins and one loss, guaranteeing the team no worse than second place in the standings, while Laurier finishes the 2013 campaign at 0-6-1.

The squad turned out a stellar performance against the Golden Hawks with third-year
Demetris Christopher putting the Mustangs on the board with a try at the six minute mark. Christopher went in to score two more tries alongside
Justin Chan,
Mike Penczak, and
Jarell Williams who added a try each.
Mike Santangeli contributed six conversion kicks for Western.

The Golden Hawks recorded two tries in the first half with Brandon Kostyk and Tomas Larouche providing the scoring.

The Mustangs squad return to Alumni Field tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. and again on Sunday October, 20 at 9:30 a.m. to take on Davenport in exhibition play before hosting an OUA semi-final matchup on Saturday, October 26.
