Day Three Recap
TORONTO – Six goals from Jovan Dabic helped the Ottawa Gee-Gees defeat the Western Mustangs water polo team 9-6 on Sunday afternoon in the Bronze Medal Game of the OUA Men's Water Polo Championship being held at Toronto's Varsity Pool.

Sunday's game was a rematch of last year's third place battle that saw the Mustangs come out on top with by a 15-12 score.
Â
The two teams started out evenly, trading goals in the first period and ending the frame tied at 1-1. Ottawa began to take control in the second, scoring three goals while holding the Mustangs to one score of their own. The Gee-Gees would outscore Western 2-1 in the third, before the purple and white attempted to mount a comeback in the fourth, scoring three goals in the frame. However, Ottawa scored three goals of their own in the final period, holding on for a 9-6 win.

Daniel Abraham and
Jared Webster were the top scorers for the Mustangs with two goals each.
Emily Torrens and
Simon Mills rounded out Western's score sheet with one goal apiece.

Following the event, Abraham was named to the OUA All-Star Team after scoring 11 goals over the four games of the championship.
Â
Carleton went on to win the men's title, defeating the host Toronto Varsity Blues 7-6 for their second consecutive OUA banner.

Day Two Recap
TORONTO – The Western Mustangs water polo team will play for the OUA Bronze Medal on Sunday after splitting their final round robin games on Saturday at the OUA Men's Water Polo Championships being held at Toronto's Varsity Pool.

The Mustangs started out strong on Saturday, defeating the McMaster Marauders 11-6 in Western's first contest of the day.
Â
Western got out in front early, scoring four goals in the first period to establish a lead the team would never relinquish.
Daniel Abraham and
Brendan Wylie led the purple and white offence against McMaster scoring three goals each.
Emily Torrens was just behind on the score sheet with two goals, while
Simon Mills,
Jared Webster, and
Mitchell McLeod each added a goal.

In the team's second game of the day the Mustangs fell to the Carleton Ravens by an 8-3 score.
Â
Carleton took an early lead in the game, scoring the lone goal of the first period before Western fired back with two quick goals in the second to take the lead. Unfortunately for the Mustangs the Ravens responded by scoring seven consecutive goals over the next two periods, eventually walking away with the 8-3 victory.

Rodrigo Rojas led the Ravens with four goals while Abraham again topped the Mustangs score sheet with two goals. McLeod provided the rest of the scoring for Western, scoring the team's first goal of the game.

The Mustangs will now compete for the OUA Bronze Medal on Sunday, facing the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sunday, December 1 at 12:30 p.m.
Day One Recap
TORONTO – Five goals from
Daniel Abraham and four from
Simon Mills led the Western Mustangs water polo team to a 14-3 victory over the York Lions on Friday night at the OUA Men's Water Polo Championships being held at Toronto's Varsity Pool.

Western started out strong, scoring four goals in the first period and adding another in the second while holding York scoreless throughout the opening two frames. The Lions got on the board in the third period with a goal from Matt Torres, who also scored twice in the fourth, however it wasn't enough as the Mustangs scored nine goals over the final two periods to claim a 14-3 victory.

Western now gets set for two games on Saturday, facing the McMaster Marauders at 3:00 p.m. before following up with a contest against Carleton at 6:00 p.m.
