Western ties Laurier 0-0 in close matchup

WATERLOO, Ont. - The Mustangs men's soccer team took to the road on Sunday afternoon as they travelled to University Stadium in Waterloo to face-off against the Laurier Golden Hawks. In a tightly played contest the two sides ended up playing to a 0-0 draw.

The Mustangs were looking to rebound after falling to the York Lions last weekend for the team's first loss of the season. Despite both team's offences generating a number of scoring chances, neither side was able to solve the opposing netminder as both the Mustangs Adam Majer and the Golden Hawks' Evan Phillips each stopped nine shots in the contest.

Western now holds a 2-1-2 record on the season while Laurier moves to 2-1-3 and sits one point ahead of the Mustangs in the OUA West Division.

The Mustangs will return to action on Saturday, September 21, when they face the Brock Badgers in St. Catherines, Ontario, at 3:15 p.m.
