The Mustangs are headed back to the court on January 9 and 10 after earning themselves a first place finish at the York Excalibur Volleyball Classic over the Winter break. In addition to winning the annual tournament, first year Mustang
Matt Hooker secured himself a spot on the All-Tournament team while
Justin Scapinello was named Tournament MVP.
Â
Even before winning the tournament, the Mustangs were able to put an end to their five game losing streak with a victory over Toronto and close out 2014 on a positive note. Western currently sits in seventh place with a 5-5 record.
Â
Averaging 12.00 kills per set, with a .256 hitting percentage, and 2.00 blocks per set, the strength of the Mustangs lies within their performance at the net.
