Returning from the December break and coming off a tournament at Humber College with three wins and two losses, the Mustangs look to January 10 at 5pm for their next match against McMaster at Alumni Hall.

Western looks to end their four game losing streak and even the score after their earlier 0-3 loss to the Marauders in October. Headed into the match, the Mustangs hold a 3-7 record and sit at fifth place in OUA West, while the Marauders are in first place in OUA West with a 7-3 record.

Averaging 11.17 kills per set with a .175 hitting percent and 2.05 blocks per set, the Mustangs' strength lies in their ability to play well up at the net. However, the team has also impressed with their defensive play, averaging 13.93 digs per set.

Kelsey Veltman continues to lead the way for the Mustangs, averaging 3.6 points per set while also holding the top spot in CIS for solo blocks (27).

While the Mustang's strength lies in net play, the Marauders often capitalize on their back-court performance to bolster their record. As proven by their previous win against Western, the Marauders will utilize their strong defensive play and consistent serving power to combat the attacks coming from the purple and white.

Leading the Maroon score-sheet is sophomore Joanna Jedrzejewska with an average of 3.9 points per set, with fellow sophomore Maicee Sorenson following closely behind with 2.8 points per set.

Representing McMaster on the CIS leaderboards are Sorenson and Taylor Brisebois, ranking in at sixth and seventh overall in hitting percent, with Lauren Mastroluisi currently holds the title of tenth in service aces per set.
