LONDON, Ont. - The Western Mustangs beat the McMaster Marauders on October 9 by a score of 13-9, lead by attackman
Cody Ward who had 4 goals on the night.
The Mustangs remain on top of the western division, with a record of 7-1. With only four games left to play, Western seems on top of their game and ready to take on nationals.
Transition and defense were strong in the first half, only letting the Marauders score twice. At the end of two quarters, the Stangs were up 7-3.
McMaster came back fighting in the second half, giving Western a wake up call and causing them to work hard until the end. At the end of 80 minutes, Western was on top 13-9.
Top scores included Ward with four goals,
Ryan McCrory who was 2-3,
Ryan Myles had two goals and one assist, and Jordi Jones-Smith with three helpers.
The Mustangs take on the Guelph Gryphons this Friday, October 9 at 8 p.m. at the University of Guelph. The boys are looking to add another win to their record and continue on the road to Nationals.
