The Mustangs women's volleyball team will be looking to rebound after a tough weekend, with a single game against Windsor at home.
The Mustangs are currently breaking even at 2-2, after two hard fought losses this past weekend. The Mustangs faced some of the toughest blocking they've seen in year from the Brock Badgers, while going neck and neck with the McMaster Marauders through four sets. The visiting Windsor Lancers are 3-3, and are coming into the game off of a win.
Fourth year
Kelsey Veltman has continued to establish a dominant presence on the court, leading the Mustangs in scoring. The team will look to her to continue her strong play, in order to pull the team above the .500 mark. Second years
Carly Kimmet and
Melissa Langegger have been stepping into roles as veteran players, and have been steadily picking up points as the season continues.
For Windsor, first year Paige Phills has made an impact early on in her OUA career, leading the team, as well as the OUA, in kills, with 75. The team will rely heavily on Phills for their offense, as she has produced 27 more points than the next highest player. Third year Carleigh Bailey will hold up the Lancers defense, as she leads the league in digs, with 126.
Windsor will prove a challenge for the Mustangs, who will need to focus on the strong blocking game they developed against McMaster, and focusing on their precision attack. The Lancers are currently one win ahead of the Mustangs in the standings, and a win this weekend would allow the Mustangs to jump into a tie for second in the OUA West.
The game will be held at Alumni Hall, at 6 p.m. on Friday.
