Women's volleyball is back in action this weekend, and are set to take on the Brock Badgers and the McMaster Marauders at home on Saturday and Sunday respectively. The two games kick off a five game homestand, that won't see the Mustangs hit the road until January.

The 2-0 Mustangs are fresh off of their bye week, and will be looking to continue with their early season momentum. The team has only lost one set, and has looked dominant both offensively and defensively, with an average 10.75 kills per set, and only 37 errors through seven sets.

Fourth year veteran Kelsey Veltman has made a splash early on, leading the OUA with 1.57 blocks per set and a .298 hitting percentage. Second year Melissa Langegger has held her own in the offensive end, with 3.29 kills per set, good for fourth in the league. The team is rounded out by fifth year Kat Tsiofas, and fourth year Aja Gyimah.

Western vs Brock – Saturday, November 11 at 6 p.m.

The team will take on the 1-1 Badgers to kick off the weekend, and will be looking to showcase their strong offense. After opening their season with a 3-1 loss to Waterloo, the Badgers bounced back with a 3-1 win over Guelph, and will be eager to prove themselves as a force in the OUA early in the season. The badgers been led by third year Laura Condotta, who offensively has led the team with an average 3 kills per set, as well as defensively, with 19 digs through two matches.

The Mustangs will need to make sure that they are well tuned and sharp against the Badgers, as they have to face off against their rivals, the McMaster Marauders, the next day. The game will be a rematch of last year's gold medal game, which saw the Marauders defeat the Mustangs in five sets, with the game coming down to the final point.

Western vs McMaster – Sunday, November 12 at 2 p.m.

The Marauders currently sit in second in the OUA West, right behind the Mustangs, with a 2-1 record. After opening their season with a 3-2 loss at the hands of the Ryerson Rams, the Marauders have plowed through their competition, and have not dropped a single set since. Maicee Sorenson and Carly Heath have been key players for the Marauders, as Heath leads the OUA with 5.45 digs per set, and Sorensen leading the league with a .597 hitting percentage.
