WINDSOR, ON - Western closes out the 2021 section of their season with a loss to the Windsor Lancers. Western lost 6-3 and did not pose much of a threat towards the Lancer goaltender.
Western's skid continues in back to back games against the Lancers and places them at 0-6 over the past 3 seasons.
Franco Sproviero knotted the game at 1-1 in the first period which kept the Mustangs in the game.

Sproviero is a veteran this team relies on to spark the offense and he did just that with this goal.
Despite the score Western found some life in the third period as they continued to pressure the Lancer defense.
Kolten Olynek scored another powerplay marker to bring the score to 5-2 in the third which brought with it another jolt of energy in the Mustangs legs.

Unfortunately for the Mustangs the Windsor offense managed to put their 6th goal behind the Western net-minder and once again put the game out of reach.

Reed Morrison scored the third tally of the game for the Mustangs to cut the score in half at 6-3.

Morrison plays tough minutes for the Mustangs and was rewarded for his efforts in the final game of 2021.
Western continues its struggles against the Windsor Lancers and could not come away with the win in the Saturday night game.
Dave Ovsjannikov was able to hold his own between the pipes tonight, despite the lopsided score, and kept the Mustangs in the game during crunch time.
Western will take their Christmas break with some learning lessons in hand and will return Friday January 7th against Guelph at 7pm.
