Guelph, ON – Western women's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Gryphons Wednesday evening.
Guelph was quick to open the scoring, taking a 1-0 lead in the 11
th minute.
Reese Fowler then netted her second goal of the season, equalizing for the Mustangs in the 35
th minute from an assist by Avarie Thomas.
Both teams exchanged chances, but ultimately couldn't break the stalemate in the second half of play. In stoppage time Guelph managed to put one away and secure the lead in the final minutes.
The Mustangs return home this Sunday October 3
rd when they take on the Gryphons again at Mustangs Field. Kick-off is at 1pm.
