Niagara-On-The-Lake, ON - The Mustangs Women's Squash team are bronze medalists after topping the University of Toronto 5-2 at the 2022 OUA Championship.
The Mustangs started out the weekend with a Friday night victory over McMaster 6-1 and followed that up with a pair of victories on Saturday (6-1 over Guelph & 4-3 over Waterloo) to book their spot in the playoff round.
In the semi-final Western met the 7 time defending OUA Champions from Queens. While Western fought hard, the would fall 6-1 to the Gaels which sent them to the bronze medal match.
Western would meet the University of Toronto to determine who would round out the podium finish. Alessia Ferris would pick up the first victory for Western by a 3-1 score. After a pair of Toronto victories, Western would then roll through 4 straight victories from Zane Gaskin, Eve Pehleman, Anvita Dias & Pujita Verma to secure the bronze medals.
Ferris would be named an OUA All-Star for her efforts during the championship.
