Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON – The Mustangs Women's Squash team picked up a bronze medal from the 2024 OUA Squash Championship this weekend.
Western would start pool play with a pair of dominant 7-0 wins over Brock & Guelph on Friday. They would punch their ticket to the semi-finals when they beat McMaster 6-1 on Saturday morning to finish 3-0 in pool play.
The Mustangs would run into a tough meeting with the Waterloo Warriors in the semis, falling 7-0 to push them to the bronze medal match.
Western would have a refreshed and renewed mindset on Sunday morning in the bronze medal meeting with McMaster and would go on to take the 6-1 win over the Marauders and the 3
rd place finish.
Mustangs Women's Head Coach Tom Panabaker was named OUA Women's Coach of the Year & Captain Alessia Ferris was named an OUA All-Star in the presentation of the major awards.
