London, ON - Today's team recognition as part of the 2023 Mustangs Season of Celebration is the Mustangs Ultimate Frisbee Team.


 
The Mustangs took part in the Canadian University Ultimate Championships in Belleville, where the women's team claimed the Division 2 Bronze Medal. The purple and white started the Championship with a 13-1 win over Toronto before falling 8-6 to Sherbrooke. They closed out opening day with a 10-5 win over Carleton. The 'Stangs rode their momentum to a 9-6 win over Waterloo but then fell 9-7 to TMU. An 11-5 win against York was enough to claim the bronze. 
 
The Open team took home fourth place at the Championships. The purple and white went 3-0 on Saturday, winning 15-6 against Trent, 12-6 against York and 14-12 against Laval. Western then took on Carleton and Sherbrooke, losing 10-15 and 7-11 respectively, to close out the weekend. 
 
The team MVP's for this season are: Gavin Lee and Montana Danis 
 
Bronze W recipients are: Campbell Gardiner, Blake Harriott, Sydney Hubbard, Ben Klar, Jaidyn Lunn and Robert Sun

Graduating Ring recipients are: Blake Harriott, Sydney Hubbard, Lydia Lai, Gavin Lee, Jason Liu, Robert Sun, Liangchi Zhou, and Eric Zhuang
