Kristoff’s Hat Trick Powers Western to 5–2 Win Over TMU

TORONTO, ON. — The Western Mustangs earned a strong 5 to 2 win over the TMU Bold on Sunday afternoon at the Mattamy Athletic Centre, led by a standout hat trick performance from #51 Adeline Kristoff.

Western set the tone early, driving possession and generating the better looks in the opening frame. The Mustangs struck first at 12:29 when Kristoff converted during 4-on-4 play, giving Western the early edge. Just minutes later, #94 Lacey Larmand extended the lead at 6:13, finishing a loose puck to make it 2 to 0. Western pushed the pace throughout the period while goaltender #89 Presley Daschuk turned aside TMU's best chances, keeping the Mustangs in control after twenty minutes.

TMU pushed back in the second, gaining more offensive zone time and generating pressure off the rush. Western handled a penalty shot at 18:22 as Dashuck shut the door, but TMU capitalized on a rebound at 14:12 to cut the lead to 2 to 1. Despite penalties against Western, including calls at 10:46 and 9:00, the Mustangs remained composed defensively and carried a one goal lead into the third.

The final period opened with momentum swings at both ends. TMU tied the game at 17:04, but Western responded immediately, with Kristoff burying her second of the night at 16:45 to reclaim the lead. From there, the Mustangs tightened up defensively and pushed back with sustained pressure. Kristoff completed her hat trick in the final minutes, giving Western breathing room, before #19 Katie Suitor sealed the win with a goal at 20.6 seconds to make it 5 to 2.

Dashuck finished with a poised performance in net, and Western's bench carried strong energy throughout the game, closing out the road trip on a high note.

The Mustangs move forward with confidence as they head to Windsor on Friday, November 21st to take on the Lancers at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex. Fans can watch the action live on OUA.tv.
